Best Football Manager Ever!

Will Jose Mourinho be the best football manager ever?
Or is he already!

When people talk about the best managers, if people look at the number of major trophies won (minor trophy such as Super Cups or Invitational Tournament should be excluded!), then the name of Sir Alex Ferguson will come to mind. He has won a total of 35 major trophies in 38 years since becoming a manager at Eat Stirlingshire in the Scottish League until retirement in the English League at Manchester United.

Compare to Jose Mourinho...
He has won a total of 15 major trophies in 18 years since becoming manager at Benfica until now as manager of Chelsea FC.

Both by the way have won 2 Champions League which is the ultimate prize in Europe.

Lets look at Sir Alex Ferguson who made his name at Man U. He started becoming manager for Man U in the 86/87 season and only start winning the League title in the 92/93 season - a six year wait. And that was probably because of a French player name Eric Cantona. Only after Cantona become a Red Devil does Man U become a dynasty. Only after Man U started winning with Cantona on board, that world class player wanted to play for Man U. So is the success of Man U truly because of Alex Ferguson or is it because of Eric Cantona who actually started this winning tradition.Something to question our mind...

As for Jose Mourinho, he is actually a very fortunate manager. Most of his latter trophies, is won with teams who are already champions or title contenders when he arrive...Chelsea in 2004,  Inter Milan in 2008, Real Madrid in 2010 and again Chelsea in 2013. The only 'building' process probably happens when he is at Porto in 2002. Can you still say that he is great, only because he inherit a good team? Why is Chelsea able to win the Champions League in 2012 with Roberto DeMateo after Jose left? Why is Real Madrid able to win the Champions League with Carlo Ancelotti after Jose left? Something to think about...

In order to compare in equal terms, we will probably have to wait another 20 years to see whether after 38 year of managing, who won more major trophies. Is it Ferguson? Or will it be Mourinho? Or will there be someone else...Guardiola? Ancelotti?

Why I love Arsenal?

The first game that come to mind is the FA Cup final of 1979. It was shown live by RTM at that time in black and white.
Arsenal led 2-0 for most of the game, but somehow Manchester United equalise by scoring 2 quick goal near the end of the game.
However Arsenal was meant to win the game, they score in the dying minutes, frustrating the whole Manchester United camp.
